This timely warning aims to provide information to aid the Augsburg community in protecting themselves after a report of a serious crime.\nReported Offense(s): Sexual Assault\nOn October 28, 2026, at 11:58 a.m., the University’s Title IX Coordinator received an email report of a student who stated they were sexually assaulted in Anderson Hall. The report stated that the student invited the suspect (who is believed to be unaffiliated with the Augsburg community) to their Anderson Hall residence the evening of October 26, 2026 and that the sexual assault occurred in the room shortly thereafter. The suspect then left the building alone.\nSuspect Description\nA description of the suspect wasn’t immediately made available to DPS.   \nStatus\nDPS is currently investigating this incident. Anyone who may have information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Minneapolis Police Department or Augsburg DPS at 612-330-1717.\nReporting Incidents\nAugsburg asks its community members to report any and all concerns that may impact our campus community. If You See Something – Say Something. To report, please contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 612-330-1717. You can also download the CampusShield app (through Apple or Android) to message DPS. We also encourage you to utilize the resources available on the DPS website.\nSafety Tips\n- Keep your head up and always be aware of your surroundings.\n- Do not sit or walk with your phone/laptop out.\n- Do not walk with earbuds or headphones on so you can hear what is going on around you.\n- If approached in your vehicle by someone you do not know, do not open doors or roll down windows.\n- Call Public Safety or the Minneapolis Police if you see any suspicious activity.\nDisclaimer\nAugsburg University believes that physical descriptors alone are not a valid reason to profile or cast suspicion on any individual. When physical descriptors are included in communication to the Augsburg community, it is done so because they may reasonably assist in identifying the perpetrator of the incident. Augsburg University uses perceived race and gender descriptors that are provided about a suspect only when additional characteristics (beyond clothing) are also available. Such descriptors are used in an attempt to provide the campus community with important information. However, the University recognizes that race and gender are personal identity attributes that cannot always be accurately perceived by others, and that any reported information may not be accurate.",

The reported assault was in an Anderson Hall residence the evening of Monday, October 26, 2026, after the student invited a person believed to be unaffiliated with Augsburg.
