"verbatimText": "Brazosport College continues to monitor advisories from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) and the City of Lake Jackson regarding the water quality affecting the City of Lake Jackson. All college operations, the May's Children's Center and all college classes, are scheduled to occur as planned, either online, face to face, or in a hybrid/blended format, for Monday, September 28, 2020. Brazosport College is a designated Point of Distribution (POD) site through the end of the day on Tuesday, September 29 for Lake Jackson residents to receive bottled water. Due to the traffic on campus, employees and students should enter Brazosport College through W. Gator Drive, the entrance closest to the railroad tracks, and park in designated lots. The reopening of Tommy's Catering will be determined upon further guidance from TCEQ and the City of Lake Jackson. Parents dropping children off at The May's Children's Center should enter the College campus through E. Gator Drive, the entrance closest to The Center for Arts and Sciences, and communicate with the Brazosport College Police. We will continue to monitor and post updates on the Brazosport College website, and all BC social media accounts.",

"verbatimText": "Based on information from the City of Lake Jackson Health Department and the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), the boil water notice for the City of Lake Jackson has been rescinded. On October 5th and 6th, the City of Lake Jackson and the TCEQ documented disinfectant residuals were above the TCEQ's required disinfection standards throughout the entire system, and microbiological samples were collected. City of Lake Jackson residents will no longer need to boil the City's water prior to using for drinking and cooking, but are urged to continue to avoid getting water up into their noses to reduce the risk of Naegleria Fowleri. More information on precautions that should be taken concerning the amoeba are found by visiting the City of Lake Jackson's website which outlines further guidance from the CDC.",
