"verbatimText": "Timely Warning: Attempted Sexual Assault/Fondling Investigation\n\nDate: April 12, 2025\n\nTime of Incident: Approximately 9:45 p.m.\n\nLocation: Upper Intramural Field/Lot 2\n\nOn April 12, 2025, at approximately 9:45 p.m., two female victims reported they were fondled by an unknown male during the Clemson Music Fest event on the Upper Intramural Field. The suspect attempted to converse with the two victims before subsequently committing assault by unwanted fondling before fleeing into the crowd.\n\nThe suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 11 inches with brown hair and a mustache. The suspect is reported to have been wearing a black sweatshirt and a hat turned backward.\n\nIn response to this incident, the Clemson University Police Department (CUPD) is canvassing the concert venue and conducting uniformed patrols in and around the parking areas to identify any potential suspects. CUPD is actively reviewing all available video footage from the surrounding area.\n\nAnyone with additional information or who observed suspicious activity in or around this area on April 12, 2025, should contact CUPD at 864-656-2222 or use the Text CU Dispatch feature in the Rave Guardian app for anonymous reporting.\n\nBe Reminded that:\n\n* Survivors and victims are never at fault for the violence they experienced. The only person responsible for sexual misconduct is the perpetrator.\n* Consent is at the heart of sexual violence and assault. It is expected that the initiator of each sexual act seeks and receives consent prior to engaging in sexual activity.\n* If someone shares that they have been a victim of a crime, listen without judgement and help connect them to authorities and to resources for assistance and support.\n\nCrime Prevention Safety Reminders:\n\n* Travel in pairs or with a group, particularly at night. Whenever possible, walk in well-lit areas.\n* Alcohol and other drugs can inhibit a person’s ability to give consent or may be used by a perpetrator to make it easier to commit a crime. Be alert to others trying to pressure you or your friends to partake in alcohol or illegal substances.\n* Trust your instincts. If a situation doesn’t look or feel right, do what you can to get yourself and those who are with you out of the situation or call for assistance.\n* Never attempt to make contact with persons involved in suspicious activity.\n* If you see something, say something and call CUPD at 864-656-2222 to report any suspicious activity.\n\nFor Reporting Options, Support or Resources\n\nFor information on reporting sexual misconduct, accessing resources on and off campus, supporting survivors and getting involved in sexual misconduct prevention, visit the Interpersonal Violence Resources section of the Student Health Services website.\n\n_Issued in compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, a federal law originally known as the Crime Awareness and Campus Security Act of 1990, that mandates timely notices to the campus community. The Clery Act is enforced by the U.S. Department of Education._",
