"verbatimText": "Clery Crime Alert\nBurglary\nThree burglaries were reported to have occurred on Saturday, October 26, at around 7:33 a.m. and on\nTuesday October 29, at around 4:55 a.m. and 5:02 a.m. at 150 Claremont Avenue, 423 West 118 Street\nand 420 West 119 Street, at the Morningside Campus.\n\nThe complainants all reported packages missing from the lobbies of their respective buildings. Video\nreview shows an individual entering these buildings by either ‘piggybacking” or by ringing random\nbuzzers. Once inside, the individual removed several packages without permission or authority.\n\nThe incidents were reported to Columbia University’s Department of Public Safety on the morning of\nTuesday, October 29. If you have any additional information about this incident, please contact the\nDepartment of Public Safety at 212-853-3301.\n\nThe suspect is described as male-presenting, with a dark-complexion, approximately 30-35 years old,\nwearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, black jacket and grey sweatpants. We believe this suspect may be\nconnected to past burglaries.\n\nSafety Tips\nDo not allow others to “piggyback” behind you into a secure location.\nPlease try to retrieve your package in a timely manner.\nDo not buzz people into building unless you know who they are and what they are doing.\n\nDisclaimer: Clery Crime Alerts (Timely Warning Notifications) are distributed pursuant to\nthe Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics\nAct. Columbia University is required to alert the campus community when certain crimes\noccur in our Clery Act defined campuses that represent a serious or continuous threat to\nthe community.\n\nTo see this and other Clery Crime Alerts please visit our Public Safety website. For more\ninformation about Columbia University’s Clery Act compliance efforts, please contact the\nDepartment’s Clery Act Compliance Director, Roberto A.
