      "verbatimText": "Clery Crime Alert – Robbery\nOn Friday September 17, 2021, at approximately 10:40 P.M., two affiliates were the victims of a\nrobbery while walking northbound on the west side of West 118th Street and Amsterdam Avenue.\n\nThe individual parked and exited a black four-door sedan vehicle and approached the two\naffiliates. The individual stated he had a gun and reached into their pockets removing two wallets and\none cell phone. He then removed debit and credit cards from the wallets and tossed the wallets to the\nground. He then re-entered the vehicle and fled driving southbound on Amsterdam Ave.\n\nThe individual is described as a light complexion male, approximately 5 feet 7 inches in height,\nwearing a white T-shirt and light blue jeans, with a tattoo on his right arm.\n\nIf you have any information concerning this crime, please contact the 26 Pct. Detective squad at 212-\n678-1351 or Columbia University Public Safety at 212-854-2797.\n\nPlease Remember These Safety Tips:\n\n• Be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking alone\n• Using a smartphone or other electronic devices, especially with earbuds, can be distracting and\nmay make you a vulnerable target for an assailant.\n• Trust your instincts. If you feel that you may be in danger, seek out others, or an open facility\nthat can assist.\n• Consider using CU Shuttle Busses.
