Shortly thereafter,\na second complainant, an Assistant Professor, also reported that their belt, sneakers, and other items were forcibly taken by a group of people described\nas the same in the first incident inside Morningside Park.\n\nThe suspects are described as male-presenting wearing all black and face masks.\n\nSafety Tips\n\nBe aware of your surroundings, especially when walking alone.\nStay alert and tuned in to your environment. Remember that cell phones, earbuds, and other electronic devices divert your attention from your\nsurroundings and block out environmental sound, which increases your vulnerability.\nBe wary of scooters or other small vehicles that are driving too close to the sidewalk.\n\nDISCLAIMER: Clery Crime Alerts (Timely Warning Notifications) are distributed pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime\nStatistics Act. Columbia University is required to alert the campus community when certain crimes occur in our Clery Act defined campuses that represent a serious or continuous\nthreat to the community.\n\nTo see this and other Clery Crime Alerts please visit our Public Safety website. For more information about Columbia University’s Clery Act compliance efforts, please contact the\nDepartment’s Clery Act Compliance Director, Roberto A. Pineda Sanchez at rp3240@columbia.edu.",
