      "verbatimText": "Dakota State University will be closed on Friday, Jan. 23 due to extreme cold weather in the region. All in-person classes and normal business operations are canceled. Only essential personnel should report as directed.\n \nFor Jan. 23 classes, the university will operate in condition “yellow” under DSU Policy 2.3 (Remote Learning During Inclement Weather) with optional remote instruction. Faculty should communicate any plans to assign remote instructional activities to students ahead of time.\n \nFriday evening and weekend activities, including DSU basketball games, will operate as scheduled as the warning is expected to expire by the scheduled start time.\n \nThe Marketplace and Bits ‘N Bytes C-Store will operate as normal Friday. 8th Street Square and The Queue will be closed.\n \nThe university plans to fully reopen for regular business on Monday, Jan. 26. \n \nAn extreme cold weather warning has been issued for the Madison area, with dangerously cold air and wind chills as low as -40. It is important to limit time outside, dress in layers, and cover up exposed skin.
