The FSUPD is actively investigating these incidents.\n\nWhile we work diligently to investigate these thefts, members of our campus community are encouraged to take proactive measures by registering personal property such as electric scooters with the FSUPD using the online Property Registration portal and following these crime prevention tips:\n\nChoose Well-Lit Areas and Be Aware: Park your scooter in well-lit and high-traffic areas. Always be aware of your surroundings, and immediately report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.\n\nRecord and Photograph: Record serial numbers and take photos of your expensive items, such as electric scooters, bicycles, laptops, etc., and register personal property with the FSUPD.\n\nUse a Quality Lock and Secure to Fixed Objects: Regardless of how short your absence may be, lock your bicycle or scooter. Invest in a high-quality lock specifically designed for scooters or bicycles. U-locks or heavy-duty chain locks are more secure than cable locks.\n\nIf you have information about these incidents, please contact the Florida State University Police Department at 850-644-1234 or Crime Solvers at 850-574-TIPS (8477).",
