      "verbatimText": "An informed community is a safe community Date: September 14, 2022 In order to provide the campus community with information that may aid in the prevention of criminal activity, the Grand Canyon University Public Safety Department is providing the following tips: Prevention Information: While off-campus, always be aware of your surroundings Travel within secure areas of campus in lieu of taking shortcuts off campus Travel in pairs or groups when possible Park in well-lit and populated areas Parking on-campus is recommended over parking off campus due to security measures in place Be aware of emergency blue light phone locations around campus and on every floor of garages Call 911 or Public Safety right away if you feel unsafe or see someone suspicious To report a crime or suspicious activity, contact the Public Safety Department by telephone at 602 639 8100; in person at The Grove Parking Garage; or if you wish, anonymously through the “TIPS” system at https://www.gcu.edu/about-gcu/offices- services/public-safety.php",
