"verbatimText": "Date: October 25, 2023 \nIn compliance with the \"Timely Warning\" provisions of the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and \nCampus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act) the Grand Canyon University Public Safety Department is giving notice of an \noffense reported to have occurred in the Rivers Garage located at 5313 N 29\nth Ave. \n\nReported Offense: Motor Vehicle Theft \n\nSuspect/s: Unknown \n\nIncident Information: On 10/24/2023 a 2020 Hyundai Elantra was stolen from the Rivers Garage. The incident occurred \nsometime between 10/23/2023 and 10/24/2023. The vehicle was recovered nearby by Phoenix Police before it was \ndiscovered stolen. Also in the Rivers Garage during the same timeframe, ten other Hyundai and Kia brand vehicles were \nbroken into in what appear to be attempted motor vehicle thefts. \n\nPrevention Information: \nGCU Public Safety has increased police and security patrols in our garages. GCU Police are also working with outside \npolice agencies to investigate and deter these crimes. \nGCU Public Safety also offers the following vehicle theft prevention tips: \n• Always close your windows and lock your vehicle when parked. Do not keep a spare key in or around your \nvehicle. \n• Consider using a steering wheel lock, alarm system, ignition kill switch or tracking system as a theft deterrent. \n• If you own a 2011-2022 Hyundai or Kia, anti-theft software upgrades or re-imbursement for anti-theft devices \nmay be offered by the manufacturer. Contact your local Hyundai or Kia dealer to see if your model applies to \nthis program. \n• If you see someone suspicious in the garage or any other location on campus, please call Public Safety at 602-\n639-8100 as soon as possible. \n\n\n\n\nIf you have any information that might be related, or experienced an incident similar in nature, contact the Public Safety \nDepartment by telephone at 602 639 8100; in person at The Grove Parking Garage; or if you wish, anonymously through \n\"TIPS\" at https://www.gcu.edu/about-gcu/offices-services/public-safety.php",
