      "verbatimText": "The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating an armed robbery reported at approximately 7:30 p.m. at 9th Street NW and Florida Avenue NW.\n\nA group of Howard University students was approached by a single suspect off campus at the King Gas Station, who demanded and took money and jewelry. The suspect used a handgun to strike one of the complainants in the face, who refused the demand.\n\nA lookout has been initiated for a single black male, light complexion, 6'2\" tall with tattoos on his neck. The suspect was wearing a black bubble coat and gray jeans. The suspect was last seen traveling westbound, driving a black-colored Malibu with Virginia-issued temporary tag number 16314A. The weapon is described as a 9mm handgun.\n\nAnyone with information about this incident should immediately contact the Department of Public Safety (DPS) at 202-806-1100 or call 911 to reach MPD.",
