      "verbatimText": "The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating a simple assault report made near Georgia Ave NW and Fairmont Street NW at approximately 11:00 a.m.\n\nA Howard employee was walking in the area and was approached by a Black male, believed to be between 30-40 years old. The suspect asked the complainant if he was okay and struck him. The victim did not sustain any serious injuries and did not require immediate medical care.\n\nAnyone with information about this incident should immediately contact DPS at 202-806-1100 or call 911 to reach MPD.",
