      "verbatimText": "Safety Bulletin: Mercury Remediation Update\n\nFollowing up on the Safety Bulletin from last week (https://lehigh.apparmor.com/Notifications/CAP/?id=131299&t=218118513), this communication provides information regarding mercury that was discovered in Iacocca Hall. \n\nWork in the building has concluded and test results obtained to date indicate that the risk of exposure is low. Certain rooms on floors 1 through 3 of the C Wing remain closed as we await the final analysis of swab testing. Please continue to observe all directional signage and keep out of areas marked closed. \n\nRemediation and Testing Results \nAll mercury that is or was present has been contained and removed. Air quality testing results indicated that levels in the air were below OSHA and NIOSH requirements and considered safe. The Environmental Health & Safety Department (EH&S) is awaiting complete results of swab testing. At this time, test results indicate there are no risks of mercury exposure in other areas of the building.\n\nStaff involved in the initial discovery and removal attempt were considered to have a risk of acute exposure. Those staff members were provided with specific resources and information regarding mercury exposure. They were tested and results indicated minimal exposure.\n\nBased on OSHA and NIOSH standards, no other individuals were considered to be at-risk for either acute or chronic exposure. No further testing of individuals was deemed necessary based on air quality test results.
