      "verbatimText": "Police activity resulting in arrest\n\nAt 12:36 PM today the Lehigh University Police Department (LUPD) received reports of a suspicious male on campus. LUPD promptly responded and identified and secured the male. During the pursuit and apprehension, a firearm was also secured. The male is in custody, pending charges. There is no active threat to campus. \n\nThe Lehigh employee who witnessed the incident and promptly called LUPD with a detailed description of the suspect was influential in the prompt and successful outcome of this incident.\n\nWe encourage our community to remain vigilant and be aware of your surroundings at all times. If you notice someone following you or notice that someone gained unauthorized access to a campus building or residence, contact the LUPD at 610-758-4200.\n\nAdditionally, LUPD offers a number of safety resources, and the HawkWatch safety app allows you to make quick contact with our dispatchers.
