      "verbatimText": "In the early afternoon on Friday, September 6, 2024, the Midlands Technical College Police Department (MTCPD) received information to an incident on the Beltline Campus. Out of an abundance of caution for all students, faculty, and staff, a lockdown was issued at 12:18 p.m. MTCPD quickly contained the incident with the assistance of the City of Columbia Police Department. The lockdown was suspended at 12:43 p.m. and all activities and classes resumed.
