      "verbatimText": "Phi Kappa Theta, which is located at 229 Commonwealth Avenue, Boston, was burglarized on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at approximately 4:00 AM.\n\nThe reporting party described the suspect as: Male, possibly black or Hispanic, middle aged, and wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.\n\nA resident of Phi Kappa Theta reported that he was sleeping in an upper floor bedroom when he was awoken by the bedroom door opening and observed an unknown suspect shine a flashlight into the room. The suspect then closed the door and made his way up the main stairway. The reporting party exited the bedroom into the hallway. Upon doing so, he heard the suspect start to run and make his way down a back stairwell. A check of the house was conducted by the responding officers, but the suspect had already fled.\n\nSuggestions\n\n\tWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t- Always lock your doors and windows.\n\n\t- Assure that door and window locks are in good working order.\n\n\t- Don't prop doors open.\n\n\t- See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t- Report all tailgaters, report suspicious people/activity.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community.
