      "verbatimText": "Please be advised that detailed information below pertains to an assault & battery that occurred during the course of a burglary.\n\nThe reporting party described the individual as: male, approximately 6' tall, black, short cropped hair, slim build, early to mid-20's, wearing a baggy oversized white T-shirt that fell to his buttocks and dark blue baggy shorts that extended past his knees.\n\nOn Sunday, May 27, 2018 at approximately 5:30 AM, MIT Police responded to a call concerning an unknown male, on an upper floor, at Phi Kappa Theta, which is located at 229 Commonwealth Ave, Boston.\n\n\tThe reporting party stated she was asleep on an upper floor in the house. She awoke to someone touching her leg. As she awoke, she noticed the unknown individual stand up, flee the room, and run down the rear stairwell.\n\n\tResponding officers conducted a thorough search of the house finding no one matching the suspect's description.\n\nSuggestions\n\n\tWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n-\n Always lock your doors and windows.\n\n-\n Assure that door and window locks are in good working order.\n\n-\n Don't prop doors open.\n\n-\n See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n-\n Report all tailgaters, report suspicious people/activity.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community.
