"verbatimText": "A dorm room on the first floor of E2, located at 70 Amherst Street was burglarized on November 10, 2018 at around 9:30PM.\n\nCameras in the area captured footage of three white males, all slim build and wearing dark clothing, approach the dorm window then flee moments later.\n\nA resident reported that an unknown male opened her first floor dorm room window screen then reached inside the open window. The suspect fled when the resident alerted the suspect to her presence inside the room. There was no damage to the property and no items were removed from the room. Officers canvased the area with negative results.\n\nSuggestions\n\n\tWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t- See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t- Always lock your doors and windows. Assure that the locks are in good working order.\n\n\t- Lock your dorm room if you are leaving (even if only for a minute or two).\n\n\t- When entering or exiting a residence, make sure the door closes tightly behind you.\n\n\t- If guests or contractors attempt to enter a dorm through a side entrance, direct them to enter through a main entrance instead.\n\n\t- Report suspicious people or activity. Report all tailgaters.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city. Also, there is often an increase in thefts during move in and move out times.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community. If you wish to leave an anonymous tip please call 617-258-TIPS (8-8477).\n\nIssued by\n\nSue Fuller-DeAmato\n\n\tCrime Analyst\n\n\tMIT Police Department\n\n\t301 Vassar Street (W89)\n\n\t617-253-1212",
