"verbatimText": "Pi Lambda Phi fraternity, which is located at 450 Beacon Street, Boston was burglarized on July 3, 2018 at approximately 6:30 AM.\n\nCameras in the house captured footage of two unknown black male intruders walking up the driveway, onto the fire escape, in the kitchen area, and exiting the house with a bicycle. The resident did not recognize either male in the video.\n\n\tSuspect 1: Male, black, wearing light colored shorts, a white or light colored t-shirt, a blue backpack, and wearing a white baseball cap backwards.\n\n\tSuspect 2: Male, black, wearing a light colored button up shirt, light colored pants, and a black baseball cap.\n\nA resident reported that his laptop and wallet were stolen from an upper floor of the residence. The resident believes entry was made through an open window which leads to a fire escape.\n\nSuggestions\n\n\tWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t- See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t- If you are living in an MIT FSILG or other MIT housing this summer, make sure any non-MIT residents know to call the MIT Police in an emergency or to report criminal activity.\n\n\t- Always lock your doors and windows. Assure that the locks are in good working order.\n\n\t- Report all tailgaters, report suspicious people/activity.\n\n\t- Document serial numbers of your electronics and take pictures of your valuables. Keep this in a safe place to provide to the police in the event you are burglarized.\n\n\t- Register your laptop. Laptop tagging is now free for the MIT community, and is offered at the IS&T Service Desk in the Atlas Center at E17-106.\n\n\t- 4th of July Safety Precautions: In an effort to reduce thefts and increase safety, secure all office and residential doors and accessible windows. Outsiders may try to gain access to buildings due to the excellent view of the fireworks, convenience of bathrooms or the opportunity to steal unlocked and unattended items.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community. If you wish to leave an anonymous tip please call 617-258-TIPS (8-8477).\n\nIssued by\n\nSue Fuller-DeAmato\n\n\tCrime Analyst\n\n\tMIT Police Department\n\n\t617-253-1212",
