"verbatimText": "Sigma Chi fraternity, which is located at 532 Beacon Street, Boston was burglarized on August 19, 2018 between approximately 8:30 PM and 9:00 PM.\n\nThe reporting party described the suspect as a male, Hispanic, 30 to 40 years old, and slender build. The suspect was wearing an oversized white t-shirt, written on the back of the shirt in red was a large \"T\" and the word \"Telemundo.\" The suspect was wearing black pants, a black baseball hat, had a white towel around his neck, and a black backpack.\n\nA resident reported that he encountered an unknown male suspect attempting to walk out of the fraternity with a bicycle. The resident confronted the suspect. At that point, the suspect subsequently left the fraternity out the rear door, without the bicycle. It is unknown at this time if any other property is missing.\n\n\tA review of cameras in the house captured footage showing that the suspect had entered the fraternity through the rear door.\n\nSuggestions\n\n\tWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t- See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t- If you are living in an MIT FSILG or other MIT housing this summer, make sure any non-MIT residents know to call the MIT Police in an emergency or to report criminal activity.\n\n\t- Always lock your doors and windows. Assure that the locks are in good working order.\n\n\t- Report all tailgaters, report suspicious people/activity.\n\n\t- Document serial numbers of your electronics and take pictures of your valuables. Keep this in a safe place to provide to the police in the event you are burglarized.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community. If you wish to leave an anonymous tip please call 617-258-TIPS (8-8477).\n\nIssued by\n\nSue Fuller-DeAmato\n\n\tCrime Analyst\n\n\tMIT Police Department\n\n\t617-253-1212",
