      "verbatimText": "On July 16, 2020, at 1:56 PM, the victim of an aggravated assault came into the MIT Police station to file a police report. The victim stated that at approximately 6:10 AM this morning while working on the second floor of MIT building #1, located at 33 Massachusetts Avenue, he entered a classroom and encountered a male sleeping on the floor. The victim advised the suspect to leave the area and that he was going to call the MIT Police. The suspect then charged at the victim and forcibly pushed him to the ground. The suspect then fled the area. The victim sustained personal injuries as a result of the assault and battery.\n\nThe suspect is described as a white male, 50-55 years of age, 150-180lbs., shoulder length gray hair, wearing shorts.\n\nWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t&middot; See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t&middot; Always lock your office and residential doors and windows. Assure that the locks are in good working order.\n\n\t&middot; Lock your office or residential door if you are leaving (even if only for a minute or two).\n\n\t&middot; When entering or exiting an office, make sure the door closes tightly behind you.\n\n\t&middot; Report suspicious people or activity. Report all tailgaters.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community.
