      "verbatimText": "On October 25, 2020, at 2:03 AM, the MIT Police responded to building 66 located at 25 Ames St. on a report of a burglary. The reporting party stated that he returned to his office to find an unknown male rummaging through his desk and personal belongings. The suspect then quickly exited the area. The reporting party further stated that after checking his belongings, he noticed that $30.00 had been stolen. There were no signs of forced entry.\n\nThe reporting party described the suspect as a male, white, 5'11, 160lbs, brown hair, wearing a Patagonia dark blue sweater, black pants and carrying a black back pack with white stripes.\n\nWhile victims of crimes are never to blame for criminal activity, there are some precautions that can be taken. In order to protect yourself and your belongings from theft and/or facilitate the recovery of your stolen property, MIT Police encourage you to follow these tips:\n\n\t&middot; See Something - Say Something: Immediately notify the MIT Police at 617-253-1212 or 100 from any campus phone if you believe a crime is occurring, has occurred, or is about to occur.\n\n\t&middot; Always lock your office and residential doors and windows. Assure that the locks are in good working order.\n\n\t&middot; Lock your office or residential door if you are leaving (even if only for a minute or two).\n\n\t&middot; When entering or exiting an office, make sure the door closes tightly behind you.\n\n\t&middot; Report suspicious people or activity. Report all tailgaters.\n\n\tThe MIT Police want to remind the MIT community that we are located in an urban setting and share many of the crime and safety issues that exist in any city.\n\n\tThe MIT Police are investigating this crime and request the assistance from the MIT community.
