      "verbatimText": "We are sharing the below information on behalf of the Columbus Division of Police for a crime that occurred in the off-campus area.\nOn 8/4/18, at approximately 1 a.m., police were notified of an off-campus crime that took place on the 200 block of E. 15th Avenue. Two females not affiliated with the university reported that they were approached in an alley by an unknown male who presented a gun and demanded their purses. The suspect then fled southbound in a small silver/gray car. No injuries were reported.\nThe suspect is described as a short, black male with short dreadlocks. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black t-shirt and jeans with white writing displayed on the pants. The weapon is described as a small, silver gun.\nThe Columbus Division of Police is actively investigating and encourages anyone with information related to this crime to call CPD at 614-645-4881 or Crime Stoppers at 614-645-8477 (TIPS).\nCrimes are never the fault of the victim.",
