      "verbatimText": "Pepperdine officials continue to monitor the Tick Fire in Santa Clarita and other fires burning in southern California. Smoke and ash from fires remain visible at the Calabasas and Malibu campuses. The fires are not currently affecting any of Pepperdine’s campuses, University operations remain normal, and classes are being held as scheduled. If needed, masks will be available on the Malibu campus at the following locations: Howard A. White Center, Payson Library, Waves Cafe, Drescher Graduate Campus Library, and the Pepperdine Law library. Masks will also be available at the main reception desk at the Calabasas and Encino campuses. If you pick up a mask this evening or already have one, please save it for potential use tomorrow. Please be advised of the following: - Community members whose homes are affected by the fire or road closures should follow the directions of their local governmental agencies.",
