The victim sustained injuries during the incident and was transported to a nearby hospital for further medical treatment.\n\nThe description of the perpetrator(s) is limited at this time.\n\nThe New Brunswick Police Department asks that anyone with information, or who may have been in the area at the time, contact the NBPD's Detective Bureau at 732-745-5200.\n\nThe Rutgers University Police Department reminds you to take reasonable safety precautions, including:\n\n• Stay alert and attuned to people and circumstances around you;\n\n• Report suspicious activity or persons to the police immediately;\n\n• Avoid isolated or dark areas; and\n\n• Walk in groups when traveling during late night hours.\n\nThe Rutgers University Police Department provides escorts to students, faculty and staff upon request.
