"verbatimText": "Early this morning, the Annex and Library buildings on the Skagit Valley College Mount Vernon campus experienced a power outage. At this time, an estimated restoration timeline is not yet available.\n\nOut of an abundance of caution, the Annex and Library are closed until further notice. All other Mount Vernon campus buildings remain open and are operating as normal. Facilities and campus leadership are actively assessing the situation to ensure the remainder of the campus remains secure while working to determine the cause of the outage.\n\nEmployees who normally work in the Annex or Library should plan to work remotely if they have a previously arranged remote work arrangement or check in with their supervisor for guidance on next steps.\n\nContractors have been engaged to assist with diagnosing the issue and restoring power. Repairs may take a significant amount of time, and Facilities staff and college leadership are closely monitoring conditions and coordinating next steps.\n\nFor technical assistance, the IT Helpdesk is available by phone only at 360-416-7766 during this outage.\n\nWe will continue to share updates with the campus community as more information becomes available. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to address this situation safely and as quickly as possible.",
