      "verbatimText": "While Skagit Valley College Whidbey Island Campus closed early today, Wednesday, Dec. 17, it will remain closed in suspended operations all day tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 18, due to ongoing power outages on campus and hazardous conditions, including downed trees and unsafe roads. Despite restoration efforts, power remains unstable, and essential systems cannot safely be brought back online.\n\nBecause heating, lighting, and building operations continue to be affected, it is not possible to reopen the campus at this time. The safety of our students, employees, and campus community remains our highest priority.\n\nHuman Resources will be sending out an email on how WIC employees should document their timesheets.\n\nPlease continue to use caution when traveling in affected areas and prioritize your personal safety.
