      "verbatimText": "The Syracuse Police Department (SPD) is investigating a string of burglaries that have occurred in the east campus neighborhood during the semester break. During this time, from Dec. 15 to Jan. 15, 13 incidents were reported to SPD. While it is unclear if these incidents are related, SPD reports that, in each instance, the alleged burglars have entered properties through unlocked windows and doors.\n\nTo enhance your safety and protect your personal space and belongings, we recommend taking the following steps:\n\nIf anyone has any information regarding these incidents or others, please contact the Syracuse Police Department at 315.442.5222. If you would like to anonymously report NON-EMERGENCY information to the Department of Public Safety, you can use the Silent Witness tool.\n\nIf you or someone you know has been affected by an incident on or near campus, please know that there are resources available to you.
