      "verbatimText": "As a follow up the to the Public Safety Notice we sent a short time ago, the Department of Public Safety (DPS) and the Syracuse Police Department (DPS) continue to actively investigate a report of gunshots. Since our first update, a suspect has been identified and taken into custody by SPD and the weapon has been secured. No physical injuries have been reported.\n\nThe shots were first reported at 1:40 a.m. and occurred in the 500 Block of Euclid Avenue, near the intersection of Sumner Avenue. Please be advised: we ask that you continue to avoid this area while the investigation continues.\n\nIf you have any information related to this event, please contact DPS at 315.443.2224 or SPD at 315.442.5222. We will provide another update when more information becomes available.",
