      "verbatimText": "On Friday, June 4, 2021, at approximately 6:45 p.m., a student was the victim of an attempted robbery in the 900 block of E. Genesee Street. The student reported while attempting to sell their laptop computer, the suspect - an unknown male - displayed what appeared to be a black colored handgun and attempted to take the laptop computer without rendering payment. The suspect was unsuccessful and fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported.\n\nThe suspect is described as a teenage male, wearing pajama style black pants, a red jacket and white sneakers and was last seen fleeing northbound on S. Crouse Ave. between E. Fayette St. and Erie Blvd. East.\n\nIf you were in the vicinity at the time and witnessed the incident, please contact the Syracuse Police Department at 315.442.5222 or the Syracuse University Department of Public Safety at 315.443.2224.
