Be aware of links, attachments and requests.\n\nSubject: TIMELY WARNING - AGGRAVATED BATTERY– NEAR THE DOWNTOWN CAMPUS Date: February 18, 2026\n\nOccurrence Information:\n\nContent Warning: This notification includes information related to an aggravated battery.\n\nDate & Time: February 18, 2026, at 12:40 a.m.\n\nLocation: 219 Loyola Ave. (Bus stop in front of the N.O. public library)\n\nReported Offense: On Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at approximately 12:40 a.m. Louisiana State Police, NOPD, and TUPD responded to a shooting that occurred at the bus stop in front of the public library near the downtown campus. The victim, a nonaffiliate, was transported to a local hospital. The suspect is not known to law enforcement and is not in custody at this time. NOPD is investigating.\n\nSuspect's Description: The suspect is described as a black male, wearing black pants, a black hoodie, a black ball cap (facing backwards), and a dark face mask.\n\nINVESTIGATION ONGOING: If you have any information about these crimes, call TUPD at 504- 865-5381 or NOPD at 504-821-2222.\n\n*Descriptions provided by victim/witness.
