      "verbatimText": "Tulane University Police Department\nUptown District Attempted Carjacking\n\nDate and Time of Occurrence:\nFebruary 16, 2022, 10:15 PM\n\nLOCATION:\n7600 blk Oak St.\n\nREPORTED OFFENSE:\nAttempted Carjacking\n\nSUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION:\n\nPerpetrator #1. Unknown B/M approximately 6’ foot tall, wearing a white hoodie, with a black gator type mask over his\nface and dark pants.\n\nPerpetrator #2 Unknown\n\nVehicle Silver in color, possibly a Nissan no further description\n\nReported Incident:\n\nAt approximately 11:25 PM, TUPD was notified of an Attempted Carjacking which occurred about one hour earlier in the\n7600 block of Oak Street. According to the two victims, they arrived home and exited their vehicle. As they approached\ntheir residence, a silver vehicle stopped near them. A black male subject exited the vehicle and approached them. The\nsubject displayed a handgun, while demanding the keys to their vehicle. One victim attempted to retrieve the keys from\na backpack but was unable to locate them. At that point the victim dropped the bag on the ground, and both victims ran\naway. The perpetrator attempted to locate the keys but was unable to do so. He then fled north on Adams St. and the\nsuspect vehicle fled west on Oak St\n\nNOPD is handing the investigation.\n\nINVESTIGATION ONGOING\nIf you have any information about these crimes, call TUPD at 504-865-5381 or NOPD at 504-821-2222.\n\nTAKE A STAND AGAINST CRIME\n   1. BE AWARE of your surroundings at all times.\n   2. REPORT suspicious activity immediately.\n   3. BE A GOOD WITNESS. Describe exactly what you observe with as many details as possible.
