The subject then\nfled in the direction of Canal Street. The subject is not known to the victim or law enforcement and is not in custody at this\ntime. TUPD and NOPD are investigating.\n\nThe Clery Act requires Tulane University to provide safety tips when issuing Crime Alerts. The following are suggestions\nrelative to the criminal incident described in this alert:\n • Trust your instincts. If you feel that you may be in danger, seek out others, local law enforcement, or an open\n Tulane facility that has Campus Safety Officers posted.\n • Be aware of your surroundings, especially when walking alone.\n • Avoid individuals who don’t respect you, ignore personal boundaries, make you feel guilty, or are aggressive.\n • Let a trusted friend or contact know when you are meeting a new person and if that person begins making you\n uncomfortable.\n • Try not to walk alone during late-night hours. Walk in groups, whenever you can, there is always safety in numbers.\n\nIf you have experienced sexual misconduct or think you may have experienced it, help is available. It is not your fault,\nand there are resources on campus and in the community to provide support and help you heal.
