      "verbatimText": "Tulane University Police Department\n\nUPTOWN DISTRICT\n\nContent Warning: The following narrative references SEXUAL ASSAULT\n\nDATE & TIME OF OCCURRENCE: November 2, 2024 LOCATION: 1200 or 1300 block of Broadway St.\n\nREPORTED OFFENSE: On Saturday November 2, 2024, Tulane University Police Department was made aware of the following incident:\n\nThe victim reported leaving the Boot Bar with an unknown male subject. As they walked on Broadway St., the unknown male proceeded to push the victim against a car and sexually assaulted the victim. The subject is not known to the victim or law enforcement and is not in custody at this time.\n\nSUSPECT’S DESCRIPTION: College aged white male, medium build, average height, with short dark curly hair, and wearing dark clothing.\n\n*Descriptions provided by victim/witness. Information about the race or ethnicity of alleged offenders is provided only to aid detailed descriptions that include physical stature, clothing or unusual characteristics. Racial descriptions do not, by themselves, offer a meaningful picture of an individual's appearance.\n\nTAKE A STAND AGAINST CRIME\n\n1. BE AWARE of your surroundings at all times and the people around you.\n\n2. REPORT suspicious activity immediately.\n\n3. Trust your instincts. If you feel unsafe and are able to do so, get to a safe place and call for help.\n\n4. Make sure you have clear, affirmative consent before engaging in sexual activity. The absence of the word “no” does not constitute consent.\n\nIf you have experienced sexual misconduct or think you have experienced it, help is available.
