The UC San Diego Police Department has actively worked to address micro-mobility theft on and around campus, and the suspect’s actions were consistent with recent criminal activity.\n\nThe suspect fled from officers but left the bicycle and electric scooter behind. Further investigation revealed the suspect removed the bicycle from the area of the Target on the UC San Diego Campus. The owner of the bicycle was contacted and confirmed the bike was stolen. Photos were obtained at that time.\n\nSuspect #1 is described as a Male, 25-30 years old, 6’0”-6’2\", 150lbs, wearing a black baseball cap, black sweatshirt, and dark blue jeans.\n\nAt this time, the suspect is not in custody.\n\nThe report is currently under investigation by the UC San Diego Police Department.\n\nSince the beginning of 2026, numerous thefts of micromobility devices, including electric scooters and bicycles, have been reported to the UC San Diego Police Department from various areas across campus.
