      "verbatimText": "Due to the predicted severe winter weather, University of Missouri operations for the MU campus and UM System offices will be closed on Friday, Jan. 17. At this time, university officials are planning to reopen campus at 12 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 18. However, the university community is encouraged to regularly check official sources of university information, including MU Alert. Officials will announce any extension of the closure in the event road or campus conditions continue to be poor.\n\nLinks to information about how the closure will affect MU Health Care hospitals and clinics, the Veterinary Health Center and other university services are posted online and will be updated as information is available. For more information about weather-related closures, please visit the MU Alert weather page.\n\nAny students in intersession courses should check with their instructors.\n\nAnyone traveling is encouraged to check road conditions through the Missouri Department of Transportation: https://traveler.modot.org/map/index.html\n\nEmployees should check with their supervisors who will identify those needed to fulfill critical duties.
