Instructors should communicate this shift with their students as soon as possible, share plans for their classes and provide any necessary resources, such as Zoom links or online learning materials. If a class has significant in-person requirements, such as laboratories or clinical classes, arrangements will be made to address the requirements at a later time.\n\nEmployees will fall into three categories during an inclement weather event: \n\n- Staff who aren't required to work on-site and will telework from home or another location. Staff who do not telework must use their available accrued leave (paid time off, personal or vacation time, if available).\n- Staff who cannot carry out their duties through telework and who are instructed that they are not required on-site to work will be compensated. Those employees who are non-benefit eligible, including students, will not be paid if they do not work. Supervisors should work with those employees to make up the time.\n- Staff who are non-exempt (hourly) and are required to work on-site may be eligible to receive premium pay; those who are required to work on-site and choose not to must use their available accrued leave (paid time off, personal or vacation time, if available). For information on how winter weather is affecting any off-campus activities, including clinics, off-campus meetings or conferences, please refer to the host location.\n\nStaff should contact their supervisor if they are unsure which category they fit. As always, faculty, staff and students are expected to exercise good judgement when deciding if they can travel safely to campus during  inclement weather.\n\nLinks to university services, including those offered by MU Health Care hospitals and clinics and the Veterinary Health Center, are listed online.\n\nDetails about MU's campus closure policies and more can be found on the UM System website.Due to dangerous accumulations of ice, the University of Missouri campus and UM System office in Columbia will shift to remote operations from now through 11:59 p.m. today, Jan. 22.\n\nClasses will be held remotely.
