      "verbatimText": "The campus and UM System office in Columbia will shift to remote operations from 12:01 a.m. Jan. 26, through 11:59 p.m. Jan. 26.\n\nInstructors should communicate this shift with their students as soon as possible, share plans for their classes and provide any necessary resources, such as Zoom links or online learning materials. If a class has significant in-person requirements, such as laboratories or clinical experiences, arrangements will be made to address the requirements at a later time.\n\nMost MU employees will fall into three categories during a severe weather event:\n\n- Those who aren't required to work on-site and will telework from home or another location. Staff who do not telework must use their available accrued paid time off.\n- Employees who are non-exempt (hourly) and are required to work on-site may be eligible to receive premium pay; those who are required to work on-site and choose not to do so must use their available accrued paid time off.\n- Those who cannot carry out their duties through telework and are required that they are not required on-site to work will be compensated. This does not apply to MU Health Care operations and staff. To receive the latest updates for MU Health Care, please visit Winter Weather Updates.\n\nThe Veterinary Health Center and the Veterinary Medical Diagnostic Laboratory do not close. Employees working at those facilities should assume they are expected to work unless they are otherwise instructed by the Hospital/Lab Director (or designee).\n\nCollege of Veterinary Medicine and School of Medicine leadership will make decisions on student involvement in clinical rotations and notify affected students.\n\nStaff should contact their supervisor if they are unsure which category they fit for the current event. Faculty and staff should reach out to their HR professional if they have questions about these policies.\n\nAs always, faculty, staff and students are expected to exercise good judgement when deciding if they can travel safely to campus during severe weather.\n\nFor information on how winter weather is affecting any off-campus activities, including clinics, off-campus meetings or conferences, please refer to the host location.
