      "verbatimText": "Due to the predicted severe winter weather, University of Missouri operations for the MU campus and UM System offices will close at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5. Additionally, all classes will be canceled for the rest of the day and evening. However, the university community is encouraged to regularly check official sources of university information, including MU Alert: mualert.missouri.edu. Officials will announce any extension of the closure in the event road or campus conditions continue to be poor.\n\nLinks to information about how the closure will affect MU Health Care clinics, the Veterinary Health Center and other university services are posted online and will be updated as information is available. For more information about weather-related closures, please visit the MU Alert weather page.\n\nAnyone traveling is encouraged to check road conditions through the Missouri Department of Transportation.\n\nEmployees should check with their supervisors who will identify those needed to fulfill critical duties. Details about MU's campus closure policies and more can be found on the UM System website.",
