      "verbatimText": "UNC Police is investigating multiple motor vehicle break-ins at SECU Family House and the Friday Center park and ride lot.\n\nThe most recent break-ins were reported between 1 and 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, July 16.\n\nAn investigation is ongoing, and no further information is available.\n\nUNC Police encourages the Carolina community to adhere to the following safety tips:\n\n- Always lock your car and keep the windows rolled up when you are not with your vehicle.\n\n- Don’t leave any valuable items in the car where they can be seen. Secure them in a storage space in the vehicle or take them with you when you exit the car.\n\n- If your car has an alarm system, make sure it is set and active when you leave your vehicle.\n\n- Try to park in a public and well-lit location where your car can easily be seen by those passing by.\n\n- Report suspicious individuals and activity to appropriate authorities, such as UNC Police.\n\nAnyone with information should call 911 or UNC Police. The UNC Police Department is available 24 hours a day by calling 911 in an emergency or 919-962-8100 for non-emergency assistance.
