Subject: Timely Warning Notification – Rape – Uptown Campus Offense: Sexual Assault - Rape Date: February 18, 2023
Content Warning: This notification includes information related to an armed robbery in our area.
On Saturday, February 18, 2023, Tulane University Police Department was made aware of the following incident:
The victim reported leaving the Boot Bar with an unknown male subject earlier in the evening. The two entered campus near Josephine Louise Residence Hall and began consensual intimate contact. The victim began to feel uncomfortable with the encounter and requested the subject stop. The subject refused and forced sexual intercourse upon the victim and then fled the area in an unknown direction.
Currently no description of the subject has been provided other than male gender. The subject is not known to the victim or law enforcement and is not in custody at this time. TUPD and NOPD are investigating.
You are receiving this notification in compliance with the The Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act or “Clery Act.”
