The decision to issue a timely warning shall be decided on a case-by-case basis based on the nature of the crime, evaluating the seriousness of the crime or threat, if it is a continued or ongoing threat, and by considering the totality of the circumstances. The timing of the notification shall, be based upon whether the crime is considered a serious or continuing or ongoing threat to students or employees, and any potential risks related to compromising law enforcement efforts.
