When it activates: Campus Crime Warning: Clery-reportable crime with continued threat, or non-crime circumstances posing significant health/safety threat that could lead to criminal activity. Campus Emergency Alert: significant emergency or dangerous situation involving threat to health or safety of the campus community.
Who decides: Campus Crime Warning: originated by Public Safety, approved by President and Cabinet, distributed by College Relations. Emergency electronic notification: Director of College Relations at direction of President or any Cabinet member; content developed with Director of Public Safety and Security.
Timeliness standard: Campus Crime Warnings distributed within a reasonable but expedited time after report, subject to accurate facts and investigation limitations. Emergency notifications without delay taking campus safety into account, unless compromise exception applies.
