UMW Police initiate timely warnings via University Communications and UMW Alertsverbatim
At times it may be necessary for "timely warnings" to be issued to the University community. Testing cadence
Not stated as a fixed semester cadence in the extracted ASR timely-warning section; multi-tier EANS (including nine outdoor speaker arrays across three campuses) is the documented delivery architecture.
Scope & limits
Timely warnings may include suspect name and personal information in certain circumstances but never include personal identifying information of the victim.

Reading the policy

University of Mary Washington is a public bachelor's institution in Virginia. Its 2025 ASR is institution-specific: UMW Police initiate the timely-warning process and contact University Communications to prepare a release sent via UMW Alerts; Crime Alert Messages may also ride the Emergency Alert Network. Input roles include UMW Police, Office of Emergency Management, the vice president for administration and finance, the vice president for student affairs, and University Communications. Immediate emergencies activate EANS (text, outdoor speaker array, email, phones, website alerts). UMW Alerts is auto-subscribed/opt-out for employees and students (and allows emergency contacts).
