Titan Emergency Notification and Campus Safety Crime Alerts

Crime Alerts are released when certain events that warrant an advisory are reported on or near Vanguard University. These alerts are intended to seek assistance with ongoing investigations and raise awareness about safety and security incidents among the Vanguard University community.

The lockdown Titan alert will be sent when the campus is notified of possible shootings, or a dangerous situation occurs in the areas surrounding or on the campus. Each alert is to be taken as an authentic threat and everyone on campus is to carry out the following procedures. The Titan alert will update continuously until Campus Safety issues the "All Clear". When the "All Clear" message is received, students and staff may return to class, work, etc.

Vanguard is a private university. Therefore, all persons on the property should be able to demonstrate legitimate use of our facilities. Those unable to account for their presence on campus will be escorted off campus by Campus Public Safety personnel. Campus Public Safety works with the Costa Mesa Police Department in all criminal cases originating on VUSC property.
