Important Security No�ce: Beware of suspicious emails involving fake checks. TUPD would like to alert the community about a recent scam targe�ng students through suspicious emails leading to the distribu�on of fake checks. Please note that the fraudulent checks most recently used by the scammers, were checks that appeared to be issued by Tulane University. However, these checks were counterfeit and not issued by anyone affiliated with Tulane University. In these emails, scammers may: • Ask you to deposit a check into your personal banking account • Promise quick money and/or job opportuni�es • Request that you purchase gi� cards • Request that you send back part of the money a�er deposi�ng the check.
Please note: these checks are fake and deposi�ng them may cause your bank account to be flagged, closed, or result in financial liability.
Suspect's Descrip�on: Two of these emails were sent from the user: BOhaeri@tulane.edu. The user alleged that their name was Blossom Ohaeri.
